ERIKSON CLOCK PRESENTS "V" CHAMBER CARTEL
The Goat Farm is proud to announce it has selected its’ next AIP Recipient (Arts Investment Package Recipient). The Goat Farm’s AIP vehicle funds, produces & presents experimental & innovative works that “pattern-break” & excite new thinking. The Goat Farm’s Review Board recognizes that consistent vanguard arts programming contributes to Atlanta’s global relevancy.
The Goat Farm Arts Center and Chamber Cartel introduces Atlanta to Anthony Donofrio's V (oratio secreta). Scored for flute, clarinet, viola, piano, and percussion, V is a meditation on episodic memory exploring time and scale through moments of immersion and solitude. As a composer, Donofrio’s music has been performed by such groups as the Locrian Chamber Players (New York), the Five-One Experimental Orchestra (Cleveland), and the Wilson Duo, where his Six Pieces for Bassoon and Marimba was premiered on Wisconsin Public Radio. He is also very interested in literature, and considers the authors David Foster Wallace, Italo Calvino, and James Joyce as important artistic influences. His music seeks to blend the structural techniques of music, literature, and painting. Specializing in half and full-evening length pieces, he has received commissions for such works from saxophonist Jeff Heisler, members of the Orquesta Sinfónica de Yucatán, and most recently from the Atlanta-based Chamber Cartel. V was written specifically for Chamber Cartel.
